attendant menu message. This information is hosted online through a company called,
Freedom Voice. With this system, you record your company greeting message or your
current system message is copied from your WAV file and uploaded.
In the event that the system goes down due to a disaster or emergency, your current
carrier automatically sends incoming calls to an alternate back up number. When
the automatic rollover is in place, your customers hear the familiar menu of choices
and perceive that it's business as usual. All phone functions work the same such
as dialing extensions, choosing menu options and even spelling the name of your
employees. Additionally, not only does a main phone number receive a back up, rollover
number, but direct dial extensions as well and again, customers don't notice a thing
as the familiar greeting is heard.
Once the call is received through the back up number, the system responds to the
command by transferring calls to employee cell numbers or another number as directed.
If the employee is not available to take the call and the caller leaves a message,
the message is emailed to the employee via a WAV file. The disaster recovery system
can even have incoming sales calls ring several people at the same time ensuring
that the call is answered in a timely manner. If a customer calls and experiences
heavy call volume, the system can queue up callers to wait for an available agent
while customizable music and/or messages are played.
Once the system is installed, it is tested to verify proper operation. Phone lines
can even be temporarily disconnected to test the failover.
